Himawari-chan and I will be returning to Japan tomorrow afternoon.

Sadaharu, could I be so kind as to ask you for a ride home from the airport?

Hmm? I see Inui mentioning a child seat? Yanagi-san, do you have a kid? If you need anything, I think I have some of Arashi's old clothes in storage. And if you're in Tokyo, I can give you some tips on places to get good deals at.

Yes, I've rather suddenly found myself a father.

I wouldn't be opposed to any advice you might have to offer. I understand that you have far more experience in this matter than I do. And yes, I'm in Tokyo. Near Todai.

How old is your daughter?

There are some good parks near there with nice playgrounds that she might enjoy.

Two and a half. She is very articulate for her age.

Yes, I've passed several such parks. I've also gotten on the waiting lists to some of the top daycare centers in Tokyo.

Ah, that's a fun age. Arashi is five, so we could get them together for a playdate if you're interested.

Maybe I'm just biased, but Munehiro's facility is really good. He's great with kids and the place is really nice.

That sounds like a good idea. Himawari could benefit from interaction with other children.

Yes, your husband's center is one of the waiting lists I got on. It's got a decent sized wait list, though.

You're a university teacher, right? On the off chance you don't get in at Hiro's center, is there a daycare where you work?

[identity profile] professoryanagi.livejournal.com 2013-08-07 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
There is a wait list for there too, actually. Most of the faculty gets on it when their child is first born. I, unfortunately, was not informed when Himawari was first born.

I'm sorry to hear that. But you know now, and you'll get to watch her grow up. It goes by fast, just so you know.

So I've been told. It seems a daunting task at the moment, however.
