It would appear that I will be allowed to return to work at the start of the new year, with my good name cleared. Apparently my outstanding character references and a well establish history of the accuser engaging in such low brow tactics have convinced the university board of directors that I am an innocent party.

Well, it would seem that the youth of this country have sunk lower than I'd ever imagined. As if rampant laziness and plagiarism isn't enough, one of my more disgruntled students has seen fit to file a... very unflattering complaint about me. A complete fabrication of course, but still annoying.

It would seem that my students are very disappointed that I actually returned to school. Apparently they liked the substitute that had taken over my duties while I dealt with family matters and an unexpected tropical vacation. I believe their fondness for her was connected to the fact that I don't believe she actually read any of their papers. It seems that I have a lot of work left to do if I'm going to turn these... students into adults who know how to write a decent term paper.
Oh well. I'm sure I can manage.

There are only a few items left that I need to acquire before leaving for the reunion. Luckily, I should be able to pick all of them up very easily on my way to the airport. Himawari is understandably excited about the impending trip.

I will be starting back at work this upcoming week. Mother has agreed to watch Himawari until she is accepted into one of the daycare centers I've applied for. I am hoping that the work ethic of my students improved while they were on break.

Well, I've booked a flight for New York leaving tomorrow morning. Hopefully I won't have to stay there too long. I'm not sure exactly what the legal process is going to entail.

I am always rather baffled by the amount of students that believe that they can plagiarize and I simply won't notice. They are literature majors, surely they must realize that every individual has a unique style of writing. I am going to notice when the student who has been writing in chat speak up until now suddenly turns in an A+ paper. Especially when, as in this last case, that paper was the exact same paper I received from a star pupil in the previous semester.
