I will be starting back at work this upcoming week. Mother has agreed to watch Himawari until she is accepted into one of the daycare centers I've applied for. I am hoping that the work ethic of my students improved while they were on break.

Sadaharu, would you like to join Himawari and I for dinner?

Genichirou, we should meet up sometime. I owe you a proper congratulations on your promotion.

Ah, you owe me nothing, but it would be nice to see you. I'm actually in the area, if tonight is a good time?

Of course. Go ahead and stop by. Himawari will be delighted to meet you.

I'll be there shortly, then.

Ahh, good luck with restarting work, Renji. However, I'm pretty sure that your optimism will not be met. If anything, they'll probably have got worse in your absence, if high school was anything to go by.

Yes, I'm afraid that you're quite right. No amount of wishful thinking will change the harsh reality.

I wish you luck. If you like, I'll send you a large box of board erasers to throw at wayward students.

I use chalk for mine. Leaves a nice impression.

Oh really? I always thought they were too small to make a real impact....maybe I was wrong.

Yukimura, do you remember my Waterfall serve? Like that. With chalk.

[identity profile] tennis-no-ko.livejournal.com 2013-08-19 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
....

^______^ That's brilliant. I can see how that would work. But wouldn't it be more effective with a board rubber...?

[identity profile] prof-inui.livejournal.com 2013-08-19 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Chalk has better aerodynamics, thus allowing for even greater speed and power. As it is now, I can hit hard enough that the chalk shatters on contact and the forehead and face are covered the dust. The impact also does the double duty of waking sleeping students.

[identity profile] tennis-no-ko.livejournal.com 2013-08-19 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
....I really want to see that. I might sit in one of your lessons if I ever pop around to see Renji. I think, once I get into coaching tennis, you may have to teach me the art of throwing chalk properly.

If you coach at Todai, you'd end up seeing more of me. The sports teams often tap me for my data.

I would not mind a visit from one of Renji's friends. I can also teach you. I'm certain you'd pick it up quickly, 100%

I don't know where I'd coach, if I'm quite honest. I still don't want to quit professional tennis just yet. Not until I'm thirty, at least :/ Maybe I'd set up my own coaching school, since my name's still pretty big....but it sounds like a hassle and like I'm planning far too far into the future.

Ahh yes, I'll definitely pop in, in that case. Perhaps not this week, but after the US Open. I heard you two were dating..? Am I wrong?

(ooc; Strikes screened)

It's never to early to plan. Of course most my plans have plans. And sub plans of those plans.

you heard correctly.<\strike>

I would love to join you and Himawari for a meal. Let me know when and I will come over.

Yes. The students. I will have to get more chalk.
